What We Don't Offer
Cutting, repairs and full-size rug pads, and what to do instead in each case.
Can you cut a hide to size for me?
No. We sell every hide whole, which is part of what keeps each one unique, and we do not sell offcuts or scraps either.
You can trim a hide yourself with sharp leather or fabric scissors, cutting from the back in small sections. Two things to know first: a trimmed hide cannot be returned or exchanged, and our hides are upholstery grade, so if the piece is destined for a chair or a bench a local leather specialist will get a better result than scissors on the floor.
Can you repair or re-stitch my hide?
No, we do not offer a repair service. For a seam that has come apart or an edge that needs work, an upholsterer or a leather specialist is who you want, rather than a rug shop; hide is worked like leather, not like carpet.
Do you sell full-size rug pads?
No. We sell small rug grippers, which is what stops a hide creeping on a hard floor. There is no full-size pad cut to the shape of a hide, and because every hide is a different shape there could not really be one. Our rug pads can be purchased here
